Despite the ongoing situation with Corona-related entry restrictions and distance bans, the Institute of Transport Logistics (ITL) at TU Dortmund can continue to offer two young university graduates professional prospects in June 2020: Maximilian Kiefer (TU Dortmund University) and Carlos Rodríguez (University of Kassel) both studied industrial engineering, recently successfully completed their master's degrees and are now part of the ITL team as research assistants. The appointments were made possible by two third-party funded projects acquired by the Institute, on which both are now working scientifically. The first is in the field of transport logistics simulation (funded by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Industrieller Forschungseinrichtungen e.V. AiF), the second is on the mathematical optimisation of transport logistics systems (funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG). The welcome at TU Dortmund included a video conference with the entire institute and a personal meeting - with distance and mouth-nose protection - with the head of the ITL, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Clausen, and the chief engineer Dr.-Ing. Sven Langkau, who wished a good start.
