Research & Projects

"The Institute of Transport Logistics is active in a broad spectrum of transport logistics issues. The focus of our research activities is on logistics facilities with the connected transport chains. To solve the research questions, we have been successfully using methods of mathematical optimisation, simulation and process management at the ITL for years." - Institute Director Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Clausen

“Our objective is to pervade logistics research questions from a holistic perspective and to work on them integrating and collaborating across multiple disciplines. At the ITL we are dealing with request-based and user-oriented projects as well as addressing basic research. We are supported by several foundations and other research funding sources, including the European Union, German Research Foundation (DFG), Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF) and Mercator Research Center Ruhr“ – Chief Engineer Dipl.-Logist.
