Prof. Clausen newly appointed to the Academy of Science and Engineering
The General Assembly of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech) accepted Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Clausen as a new member at its meeting on 15 October 2019 in Berlin. Members of acatech are admitted to the Academy on the basis of their scientific achievements and reputation. They are involved in the Academy's thematic networks, in which scientific and overarching issues with a technology policy background are discussed.
Uwe Clausen is head of the Institute for Transport Logistics ITL at TU Dortmund University and - in personal union - at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML. In his research, he and his team work primarily on efficient structures and processes for mobility and transport logistics as well as on linking the various modes of transport. He is also a member of the scientific advisory board of the Association of German Transport Companies VDV and the Federal Logistics Association BVL. At European level, he represents the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in the European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI).
